As Maintenance Manager at our plastics manufacturing site in Forrestfield, Western Australia, Jon plays a critical role in keeping the facility running smoothly. The site produces around 99 million plastic bottles each year, and Jon’s focus is plant equipment reliability and performance. For Jon, joining Visy was a chance to reconnect with an industry he’s passionate about.

“Pharmaceuticals, food and packaging have always been industries I’m passionate about. After spending ten years manufacturing construction materials, I felt it was time to return to an industry that really excited me. Joining Visy felt like coming home.”

“No two days are the same. There is always a variety of work and new challenges, which creates plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth.”

Jon has been involved in several significant projects to grow the site and its operational capability. He says one standout experience was travelling abroad to support factory acceptance testing for a new plastic injection moulding machine before it was installed at the site.

Jon describes his team as supportive, knowledgeable and welcoming.

“It’s a pleasure coming to work each day and collaborating with people who bring such passion, expertise, and a strong work ethic to the business.”

Looking ahead, Jon is excited by the role technology and data can play in shaping the site’s future.

“I’m particularly excited about leveraging data-driven decision-making to identify new opportunities, improve performance, and support future investment in equipment and technology.”

For anyone considering a career at Visy, his advice is straightforward.

“Don’t hesitate. Follow your passion and take the opportunity to apply. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you’ll find plenty of variety, exciting challenges, and opportunities to develop your career.”
