Banker gets career change in inventory management
Megan works in Visy’s newest division, Visy Retail Services (VRS). VRS supplies a range of consumer products and services to retail businesses.
She is currently the Inventory Manager in the New South Wales distribution centre. She manages all areas of inventory, including:
- inbound Inventory through local suppliers
- overseas shipments
- inventory accuracy (which she says is the most important part of the role).
Megan says she was after a career change from working in banking for 21 years. She took a role at Sales Force National, which became Zenexus and was acquired by Visy in 2023.
“This inventory role came up and required skills that I had gained in banking as well as a challenge of learning new skills. Since starting, I have been involved in many small projects from integration of systems to inventory accuracy implementation.”
She values the culture and people at Visy. “I like the opportunities that come with working in a large company like Visy. Plus, everyone is very supportive.”
Speaking of opportunities, she’s recently been promoted to a national role. “I will be working with the inventory teams across Australia to improve all areas of inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiencies.”
If you’re considering a role with Visy, Megan says: “jump on board and keep a positive attitude and strive to reach your goals, anything is possible”.
