As construction continues at our new glass recycling and remanufacturing site at Yatala, we are preparing the team who will make glass packaging for our customers.
Seven cohorts of new employees across maintenance and operations are working their way through a purpose-built training program, with a further four cohorts scheduled to commence from May. The program ensures our new employees are ready to make glass packaging to the highest standard.
Delivered over 10–16 weeks, including two weeks of structured onboarding, the program combines hands-on learning with practical instruction to build real-world experience. Training is focused on developing the skills and confidence required to work in a glass packaging factory.
The program uses a blended learning approach, bringing together classroom-based sessions, online learning, virtual reality training and on-the-job training at our existing South Brisbane glass site.
Alison Elliott, Training Manager said:
“Our new team is engaged and eager to learn and are being supported by dedicated trainers, as they prepare for their operational roles at our new glass site.”
“By investing early in our team, we are ensuring they are ready to make glass packaging for Australia’s food and beverage brands in a safe, reliable and sustainable way.”
