For Yaz, working as a Cold End Operator at our glass facility in Brisbane, Queensland, is all about precision, teamwork and pride in the final product.
She plays a critical role in ensuring every glass product that leaves our site meets the highest quality standards before they are sent to our customers.
“I’m responsible for inspecting finished products, monitoring processes and troubleshooting inspection machinery,” she explains.
“My role requires a proactive approach to problem solving as even the smallest of issues can have an impact on both efficiency and customer satisfaction.”
Yaz joined Visy over four years ago, and during this time has grown both professionally and personally. “When I first started, I focused a lot on the technical aspects of the role as this job was unlike any job I’d done before,” she says.
“Over time I’ve been able to build confidence in the work I do, take on more responsibility and developed a sense of pride in being part of such a big business.”
She was drawn to Visy’s reputation for innovation and sustainability.
“I was looking for a workplace that would provide long term stability, while also challenging me to grow as I was eager to push myself into a different field of work,” she says.
Yaz enjoys the variety and teamwork her role offers. “There are many aspects of working at Visy that I enjoy, with the main being that my position gives me the opportunity to combine technical skills with teamwork,” she says.
“Every shift brings different challenges and opportunities to learn. Knowing that the work I do supports the company's values makes the job even more rewarding.”
