Liz is turning complex designs into practical, buildable solutions at our new glass recycling and remanufacturing site in Yatala, Queensland. Working closely with the site’s design and construction teams, Liz, a Project Engineer, helps resolve civil, structural and services-related challenges as the project takes shape.
“I joined Visy for the opportunity to work on a large, technically challenging project while contributing to a company known for sustainability, innovation, and practical engineering solutions,” she says.
One of the highlights of Liz’s role is the constant opportunity to learn.
“The scale of the work and level of responsibility supports my professional growth and gives me the opportunity to contribute to projects with long term value.”
Liz has been involved in delivering Yatala’s glass production building, underground services and associated civil infrastructure.
“It has been a great experience working across different aspects of the build.”
As the project progresses, she’s excited about what’s ahead.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my site-based leadership skills and contribute to initiatives that deliver value.”
Liz describes her team as highly collaborative, with a strong focus on accountability and safety. She adds that the site’s leadership is “present on site, approachable and actively involved in decision-making.”
For anyone considering a career with Visy, Liz says it’s “a great place to grow if you are willing to take ownership and work collaboratively.”
