As National Inventory and Systems Manager, Gaurav is responsible for inventory accuracy and integrity, control frameworks and system performance across multiple sites in New Zealand. He likes that his work supports Visy’s operational teams by improving system reliability and reducing stock variance.

“My role is about trust in numbers—when inventory data is right, teams move faster and customers get better service. Systems should support people on the floor, not slow them down.”

With a background in senior inventory management roles, Gaurav was eager to drive meaningful operational and financial outcomes across our large network.

“Visy’s focus on continuous improvement and data-driven thinking aligned well with my background.”

He enjoys the ability to influence change—collaborating with operations, inventory and systems teams to create practical solutions.

“What motivates me most is seeing teams succeed with better tools and clearer processes.”

Recently, Gaurav enjoyed redesigning the warehouse layouts at one of our sites in Auckland. His work increased bin utilisation, reduced external storage and removed slow-moving stock from prime locations—delivering a safer and more efficient site.

Looking ahead, he is excited about further standardising inventory practices across New Zealand, as well as initiatives to expand system-driven controls, reduce manual effort and lift visibility through strong reporting and data quality. He says this is made possible thanks to a highly motivated team.

“Our team take ownership of outcomes and are willing to challenge processes when something doesn’t work. There is a strong sense of accountability across sites.”

For anyone considering a career with Visy, Gaurav says there are excellent opportunities to grow and lead meaningful change.

“Working at Visy means being part of large-scale operations that deliver real impact.”
